City of Chesapeake's Internship Program

NexGen: The NextGen Pathways program is hosting free online workshops to teens and young adults ages 14-24! The next workshop is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21. Topics range from "How Do You Spend Your Money?" to "Life After High School." Free math tutoring is available as well! Click the link below to register for the workshops! More information here​

The Women in Skilled Careers program creates a pipeline of skilled workers for the ship repair industry by providing women with a fast-tracked pathway to learn critical skills, obtain industry-recognized credentials, and interview with companies in the ship repair industry. The program offers 6 training tracks: Maritime Coatings, Maritime Electrical, Maritime Welding, Outside Machinist, Sheet Metal Fabrication, and Pipefitting. Participants will complete 4 weeks of workplace readiness and soft skills training followed by 5 weeks of industry-related training. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in paid work experiences, earn monetary performance incentives, and receive assistance with childcare and transportation costs.
